Donate to Danish Mansha for His Ileostomy Closure Surgery
Danish Mansha's Story
Danish Mansha, 13 years old, contracted typhoid around 7 months ago. An ileostomy was performed on him because he presented with intestinal perforation, a common complication of typhoid. After receiving surgical intervention, Danish recovered from the illness. He now requires an ileostomy closure surgery to revert his bodily function to normal.
“I carefully packed his lunch every day before sending him off to school. But you can’t keep a check on what your kids are eating all the time. There are all sorts of unhygienic food being sold on stalls outside the school and children love to eat it. He got really sick because of something he had there. We had to take him to the emergency room and it got so serious that he needed surgery. God saved my child. He is better now and just needs one final procedure to recover fully.” Danish’s father, Muhammad Mansa.
Danish lives with his mother, father and 4 siblings in a small rented house in Kasur. His father and eldest brother work to support the household. His father is a house painter and earns around 18,000 PKR a month. His brother, who works as a laborer, earns 7000 PKR a month. With a total income of 25,000 PKR, this family of 7 covers the household, utility and school expenses.
Danish’s ileostomy closure was proving unaffordable for them at a private hospital. The local hospitals, on the other hand, offered cheaper treatment but kept unnecessarily delaying their appointment. Finally, they approached Transparent Hands to ask for help.
In just a matter of a few days, Danish can get the life of a normal healthy teenager. Please contribute towards his surgery!
