Fara Ijaz's Story
Fara Ijaz, 2 years old, suffers from anorectal malformation since birth- a congenital condition resulting in a malformed stool passage. In order to correct this, she requires a PSARP surgery as soon as possible after which, she will be able to perform her bowel function normally.
Fara’s first surgery for her condition- a colostomy- was done at a local hospital a few days after she was born. In this surgery, a temporary passage for stool was made through her intestine. Since then, her PSARP surgery has been planned to construct her back passage at the normal site but has been continually postponed. She has been on medication for the past 6-7 months but needs the surgery as soon as possible.
“Fara is my youngest daughter. Ever since she was born, she has been sick. As an infant, she wouldn’t feed and just kept on vomiting. It was then that we discovered her congenital defect. I am afraid we might never be able to afford the surgery that could grant her a normal life.”– Fara’s mother
Fara’s father works at a local store and earns around 12,000 PKR a month. He has a family of 5 people to support with this salary. They live in a 2 marla house that was given to them by his parents. Owing to these financial constraints, he has not been able to get her daughter’s treatment conducted on his own. This is why he has approached Transparent Hands for help.
With the help of your donations, we can get Fara her PSARP surgery within no time. She deserves a chance at a normal life. Please support her cause!
