Fara Ijaz's Story
Fara Ijaz, 2 years old, suffers from anorectal malformation since birth- a congenital condition resulting in a malformed stool passage. In order to correct this, she requires a PSARP surgery as soon as possible after which, she will be able to perform her bowel function normally.
Fara’s first surgery for her condition- a colostomy- was done at a local hospital a few days after she was born. In this surgery, a temporary passage for stool was made through her intestine. Since then, her PSARP surgery has been planned to construct her back passage at the normal site but has been continually postponed. She has been on medication for the past 6-7 months but needs the surgery as soon as possible.

Fara’s father works at a local store and earns around 12,000 PKR a month. He has a family of 5 people to support with this salary. They live in a 2 marla house that was given to them by his parents. Owing to these financial constraints, he has not been able to get her daughter’s treatment conducted on his own. This is why he has approached Transparent Hands for help.

Fara Ijaz's Story
Fara Ijaz, 2 years old, was diagnosed with anorectal malformation at the time of her birth. The doctors performed a colostomy surgery on the tenth day of her life. Later, she was advised an Anterior Saggital Anorectoplasty (ASARP). For this purpose, Fara was admitted in Lahore Care Hospital and the surgery was performed by Dr. Sajid Nayyar on 28.01.2021. She stayed in the hospital for four days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Fara is quickly recovering from her surgery.
