Farzaman Alam 's Story

Farzaman Alam, 65 years old, has been suffering from severe pain and heaviness in his lower abdomen for the last five months. He is experiencing symptoms of urinary tract obstruction along with high-grade temperature. Farzaman has been diagnosed with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH)- an enlargement of the prostate- as well as a bladder stone. As a temporary solution, a urine bag has been attached to him. His doctor has advised him to undergo TURP (transurethral resection of the prostate) surgery and removal of bladder stone to get permanent relief from the pain and blockage.

Farzaman lives in a small rented place in Lahore with his 2 sons. Both his sons are working as ward boys in a hospital. Collectively, they earn around 20,000 PKR a month. This meager amount is responsible for getting them through the month which is why Farzaman’s sons have been unable to raise money for their father’s surgery. Fortunately, someone on the staff of the hospital they work at informed them about Transparent Hands and they promptly contacted for assistance.

Farzaman Alam, 65 years old, was suffering from symptoms of urinary tract obstruction. He was diagnosed to have enlarged prostate as well as a vesical stone. He was advised surgery to relieve his symptoms. His surgery was done by Dr. Faisal Masood, on 06-05-20, in Lahore Care Hospital. His transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) and litholapaxy were done to relieve the obstruction. He stayed for three days in the hospital and was discharged in good health.
