Farzana Shakeel's Story

Farzana, 26 years old, is going to have her first C-section. She is 8 months along and in around a month’s time, expects her child. Since the delivery would require a costly procedure, the couple is worried about the medical expenses.

Farzana and her husband, Muhammad Shakeel, live in a small rented house in Lahore. Shakeel works as a laborer and earns 18,000/- PKR a month. Even though they are just two people right now, living in an expensive city like Lahore does not leave them with any savings. Rent alone costs them 5000/- PKR every month.

“The prices in a big city are sky high so it is so hard to save money. I have been working hard and picking up extra shifts now that our child is on the way. Still, barely anything is left at the end of the month.”- Muhammad Shakeel

Farzana Shakeel's Story

Farzana Shakeel, 25 years old, was pregnant with her 3rd child. She was advised a C-section due to 2 previous surgeries for child birth. Her C-section was done on 20-01-20, at Noor Medicare Hospital, by Dr Munnaza Malik. She was happy to give birth to a baby boy. She stayed for two days in the hospital and was them discharged along with her healthy baby.
