Fauzia Bibi's Story

Fauzia Bibi, age 39 years, has been experiencing pain in her right hypochondriac area, along with abdominal distention, stretch, and discomfort for the past three years. She has been diagnosed with cholelithiasis, also known as stones in the gallbladder. Her doctor has advised cholecystectomy – surgery to remove the gallbladder after which, her symptoms will cease.

Despite being in acute pain due to the exacerbated symptoms of her untreated condition, Fauzia Bibi has not opted for the surgery because of its cost. Her husband, retired from a position with the army, only gets a pension of 10,000 PKR. He also runs a small shop to supplement his income but the profit is often as low as 6000 PKR/month. With three school-going children to support, he cannot bear the financial responsibility of Fauzia’s operation and hopes to have it conducted through Transparent Hands.

Fauzia Bibi's Story

Fauzia Bibi, 39 years old, was suffering from pain in the right hypochondriac area along with vomiting. She was diagnosed with symptomatic gallstones. Her lap. cholecystectomy was done in Abid Hospital, Mian Channu, by Dr. Abdul Saeed Sajid, on 26-07-20. She was discharged in a good condition after 2 days of stay in the hospital.
