Fozia Habib's Story

Fozia Habib is a 35-year-old housewife who is expecting her second child. Her first child, a daughter, was born through an LS C-section due to the abnormal position of the fetus. Because of her complicated medical history, she needs a C-section for a safe delivery this time as well.

Fozia is currently living at her parent’s house, recently separated from her husband. Her father is a daily wager and also recycles metal garbage to earn some extra money. He manages to earn a total of 15,000 PKR a month. Fozia and her mother are dependent on this income for basic sustenance because both of them are unable to work, Fozia because of her pregnancy and her mother due to old age. It is already difficult for her father to single-handedly support the family. Bearing the expenses of her C-section on top of that is not possible for him.

“I feel really helpless because I have no one to turn to. The only people to watch out for me in this world are my two old parents. I do not want to burden them with my responsibility in their old age because there is no possible way for my poor parents to raise the money for my operation” – Fozia

Fozia Habib's Story

Fozia Habib, 28 years old, had her 2nd pregnancy. Her previous childbirth was through C section. She was again advised emergency C-section due to fetal distress. Her surgery was done in Lahore Care Hospital, on 15-04-20, by Dr Rakhshanda Toheed. She gave birth to a baby girl in a perfectly healthy condition. She was discharged after 3 days of hospital stay in a stable condition.
