Gulshan Bibi's Story

Gulshan Bibi, age 30 years, got married 12 years ago and is the mother of two sons– a seven-year-old and a five-year-old. For the past seven years, she is experiencing pain in her right hypochondriac area along with abdominal distention, stretch, and discomfort. Gulshan Bibi visited many private and government hospitals and was diagnosed with cholelithiasis- stones in the gallbladder. Doctors advised gallbladder removal surgery, cholecystectomy, for permanent relief. In the past 2 years, the symptoms have become particularly unbearable for her.

Gulshan Bibi lives in a small house and her husband is a daily wage laborer, earning 500 PKR a day or 12,000 PKR a month on average. This meager income hardly allows them to fulfill basic necessities. Gulshan’s expensive surgery is hence totally out of their reach.

Gulshan Bibi's Story

Gulshan Bibi, 30 years old, was suffering from upper abdominal pain and vomiting. She was diagnosed with symptomatic gallstones and was advised cholecystectomy. Her surgery was done on 10-05-20, in Abid Hospital, Mian Channu, by Dr. Abdul Saeed Sajid. He performed her laparoscopic cholecystectomy. She remained admitted for 2 days and had a good post-operative recovery. She was discharged in good health.
