Irshaad Bibi's Story
Irshaad Bibi, aged 52 years, suffered from intense pain in her upper abdominal area. She also suffered from nausea and indigestion from time to time. At a local hospital, she was treated for her symptoms and her ultrasound was carried out. She was found to have a polyp in her gallbladder. A polyp is a growth that can be benign or malignant. The surgeon advised a laparoscopic cholecystectomy for her. In this technique, the patient’s gallbladder is removed in a non-invasive manner.
Irshaad Bibi, however, hails from an underprivileged segment of society. Her husband works as a labourer and earns only PKR 300 per day. They are hardly able to make both ends meet in this income. Affording basic healthcare facilities is a luxury, consequently, paying for a surgery is completely out of question for them. Irshaad expressed her distress in the following words:
“I have been enduring pain for ten years now. Previously, I had to undergo a hysterectomy surgery. I hardly had time to recover from that procedure when the doctor diagnosed the problem in my gallbladder. How can we afford two surgeries back to back in our budget? I am tired and pessimistic at this point.”
A friend of Irshaad Bibi told the family about Transparent Hands. Her family immediately contacted our team and got her registered.
Irshaad Bibi now awaits your donations for her cholecystectomy. We request you to donate with an open heart for her.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
