Irum Idrees's Story

Irum Idrees, 26 years old, is 28 weeks pregnant with her third baby. Before this, she gave birth to 2 children, a boy and a girl, through LS C-section. Due to her history of C-section deliveries, her doctor has advised her to undergo a C-section for this delivery as well.

Irum’s husband is a private job holder and gets paid 18,000-19,000 PKR each month to support the expenses of his family. Most days, this family struggles while trying to live off such a limited income. Luckily, for both of Irum’s previous operations, she was able to secure a free appointment at her local hospital. This time around, she has not been so fortunate and has requested Transparent Hands to lend her help.

“A normal delivery would have been so much easier and cheaper, but my complicated medical history doesn’t allow it. I have no option but to deliver through surgery and if I don’t, I could lose my baby or be in grave danger myself. I don’t really care about myself but I never want to go through the pain of losing a child.” – Irum talking to TH

Irum Idrees's Story

Irum Idrees, 27 year old, was about to have her 3rd childbirth. She had her surgeries done for previous childbirths as well. This time she was advised elective surgery again. Her C-section was successfully done on 17-06-20, in Noor Medicare Hospital, Lahore, by Dr Munnaza Malik. She stayed for two days in the hospital and was discharged along with her healthy baby.
