You know that feeling when you come home on a hot summer day and immediately get yourself a glass of cold water. You gulp it down your throat and it immediately cools you down. Poor Javed Khan hasn’t had that feeling in years. Minor childhood ailments do not always stay confined to that period. Oftentimes, they grow as the person grows and turn into major ailments creating disorder in the person’s life.
Same is the case with 30 year old Javed Khan whose tonsillitis has brought much mess to his life. Javed Khan has been suffering from recurrent tonsillitis for the past 15 years. Recurrent tonsillitis is a cyclical infection that occurs in episodes. It occurs due to resistant strains of the bacteria and weak immunity. Now, Javed Khan is unable to even swallow his food properly.
Upon consultation, the ENT specialist has advised Javed Khan to undergo a Tonsillectomy as soon as possible. Tonsillectomy is a surgical procedure in which the infected tonsils are removed from the back of the throat.
In a family consisting of 9 members, Javed Khan is the sole earner. He owns a small house run business of cardboard boxes and earns PKR 30,000 per month. All his monthly income is spent on household expenses. Javed Khan has been unable to save up for his surgery.

Javed Khan's Story
Javed Khan, 30 years old, suffered from recurrent episodes of sore throat. On a complete medical check-up, he was diagnosed with recurrent tonsillitis. The doctor recommended surgical removal of Javed’s enlarged tonsils. For this purpose, he was admitted in Maryam Memorial Hospital, Rawalpindi, and his tonsillectomy was performed by Dr. Nasheed on 02.12.2020. He stayed in the hospital for one day and was discharged in a stable condition. He is on his way to a complete recovery.
