Donate to Khalid Mahmood for His Open-Heart Surgery
Khalid Mahmood's Story
55-year-old Khalid Mahmood’s heart problem started 9 months ago, with sudden episodes of chest pain. His ECG was done at a local hospital which revealed that he was suffering from angina. To start, his doctor prescribed medicines and after a few months’ use, recommended angiography. Khalid continued taking the medicines and soon after, went for his follow up. The results of his angiography showed that the medicines had not improved his condition and he has triple vessel heart disease, a condition in which the three main vessels of the heart are blocked.
Due to Khalid’s increasing age, his cardiologist advised him to undergo open-heart surgery as soon as possible, before the damage worsens. Since then, he has been trying to get an appointment at local hospitals but has not been successful. Only major private institutions are offering spots but are demanding a huge sum of money in return, which is not at all feasible for a retired army officer such as Khalid. All he has is a small pension of 17,000 PKR to feed himself, his wife and two kids, and having a major heart surgery with such a small income is next to impossible.
Thankfully, news of Transparent Hands reached Khalid through a friend and he visited us to register. His case is now open for donations.
“Your generosity could save my life and keep my children from losing their father. I just want to humbly request anyone who reads this to please help raise the money for my operation. It would mean a lot to me and my family.” – Khalid Mahmood
