Kids around Khurram’s age faint from fun, not from TOF. A five-year-old boy from Thoker Niaz Baig Lahore, Khurram suffers from a cardiac condition called Tetralogy of Fallot or as commonly abbreviated, TOF. The disturbing bit about TOF is that it is not one cardiac defect but a combination of four different heart defects. In Khurram’s case, he has had a hole in his heart ever since he was born. Life has been nothing but a test for this innocent little kid ever since birth! 

At the time of initial tests, Khurram was prescribed some medicines which guaranteed an immediate relief for the boy in distress. However, these pills promised only temporary relief. No wonder why three years have elapsed since the little one popped these pills for the first time and still things haven’t improved an iota. Khurram’s problems didn’t end there. An ECG revealed that Khurram has a closed valve as well apart from a hole in the heart. To worsen matters further, the advised treatment turned out to be open-heart surgery, a procedure that can cost a fortune.

A family of ten living in a 10-marla house, we don’t make more than 17K PKR per month. But we are hoping for a miracle, we won’t give up without a fight”
