Misbah Bibi's Story

Misbah Bibi, 24 years old, is expecting her fifth baby. She has one elder son and 3 younger daughters, all under the age of 5. Due to complications during the pregnancies, all her previous childbirths were through C-sections and were carried out with financial support from her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. This time around, her delivery has to be through a C-section again but her family is unable to support her due to lack of resources.

“My in-laws are very supportive. They managed to arrange money each time my surgery was due. But inflation has hit them hard as well. They are getting by with difficulty and I cannot put my burden on them any longer. But on our own, my husband and I sometimes don’t even have enough to feed ourselves.” Misbah Bibi

Misbab Bibi’s husband is a laborer who earns 500 PKR a day. With 5 children to support and another one on the way, his income can hardly cover his family’s bare sustenance. With such financial constraints, it is not possible for Misbah and her husband to pay for her surgery so they have appealed to Transparent Hands for help.

Misbah Bibi's Story

Misbah Bibi 35 years of age, was about to have her 5th childbirth. She had her surgeries done for previous childbirths. This time she was advised elective surgery again. Her C-section was done on 27-05-20, in Abid Hospital, Mian Channu, by Dr. Sadaf Aqeel. She was happy to give birth to a baby boy. She stayed for three days in the hospital and was discharged along with her healthy baby.
