Mubashir Ahmad's Story

“I was on my way to my cousin’s wedding. It was a really happy occasion and I was all dressed up, ready to dance at the reception. I had no idea what was in store for me. I was only half an hour or so away from the venue and was on a deserted road when a dog ran onto the road from the nearby field. I swerved to avoid him and then everything went black for a bit. I woke up an hour later in the hospital” – Mubashir Ahmad

30-year-old Mubashir Ahmad severely injured his left knee in a serious road accident a few months ago. After the incident, Mubashir was rushed to a nearby hospital where first aid was administered to him. He came home shortly after, hoping to recover from the accident soon. Instead, his wound started becoming more painful over time. When he visited the hospital for a reexamination, it was discovered that his wound had gotten infected and needed surgery to remove the pus. His surgery was carried out but his pain, unfortunately, did not get any better in the following days.

After multiple visits to different hospitals in Lahore and Kasur, the cause of Mubashir’s pain has been determined to be ankylosis in his left knee, resulting in an abnormal fusion of his knee joint. To get better, he requires orthopedic surgery known as arthrodesis. In this surgery, his knee joint will be artificially remodeled to make it functional.

Mubashir has worriedly reached out to Transparent Hands for this surgery because he does not have the means to get it done on his own. His own salary of just 20,000 PKR/month cannot accommodate the cost, especially because he is the only earner in his family and is financially responsible for his wife and three children.

Mubashir’s situation may be difficult but he is not helpless. He can get the help he deserves from all of us. Please consider donating to him today so his surgery can be performed at the earliest!

Mubashir Ahmad's Story

30-year-old Mubashir Ahmad was diagnosed with left knee ankylosis and he was recommended a knee arthrodesis surgery for it. He was admitted in Lahore Care hospital and the procedure was performed by Dr. Abdul Latif Shahid on 17.09.2020. Mubashir’s hospital stay was seven days and he was discharged in a stable condition. After the healing period ends, he intends to start working in his sweets shop again since he was not able to look after his business because of the knee pain before.

“I cannot believe that I will be able to play with my boys again and that I would be able to work at my shop. The last few months were the most difficult part of my life.”- Mubashir Ahmad
