Mubashir Ali, aged thirty-one, living in Rawalpindi, has been enduring immense pain in his right flank for the last 12 months. Upon consultation, and undergoing a number of scans and diagnostic tests, he was diagnosed with right Renal stones. To treat this condition, the doctor advised him to get a right Pyelotomy done under General Anesthesia. Pyelotomy is the operation of forming an artificial opening in the renal pelvis of a kidney in order to remove stones from this area. Mubashir shared his distress with us in the following words:

“I have a family of five and an income of just PKR. 15,000 a month. My choices are as difficult as bearing this pain. Do I provide my family with their needs or get the treatment? Amidst this global economic crisis it is already difficult to put food on the table even, affording my operation is out of the question. Please help me.”

Mubashir runs a tiny shop and hardly profits from it. He lives with his father, wife and three children. In this meager income, it is very difficult for him to get his treatment done.
