Muhammad Arshad's Story

40-year-old Muhammad Arshad, an electrician by profession, fell from a rooftop while working 2 months ago. He was immediately taken to a hospital where he was given first aid and advised complete bed rest. After coming back from the hospital however, Arshad started working again for fear of getting fired. A few days later, he started feeling severe pain in his leg which he had no choice but to ignore at first. Gradually the pain became so intense that he could barely stand on his leg. When he consulted a doctor, at last, it was discovered that he has a neglected fracture in the neck of his femur. He is unable to bear weight on his leg and in order to fix his femur and regain his mobility, he needs orthopedic surgery- fixation via a dynamic hip screw (DHS).

Arshad lives in a small house of one room with his wife in Okara. Since he is out of work, he is struggling to pay his monthly expenses. He and his wife are currently relying on their relatives, who provide food and other bare necessities to this couple. To get out of this dire situation, Arshad has contacted a few hospitals but the treatment charges are too much for him to bear and his relatives cannot help him any more than they already have. Muhammad Arshad, 40 year old, had injured his hip bone after a fall from a significant height about 2 months ago. He was treated at a local hospital but was unable to bear weight on his left leg after treatment. He was diagnosed to have left femur neck fracture and was advised surgery to fix his bone. His surgery was done in Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital, on 30-04-20, by Dr Muhammad Adeel in which his left hip DHS was done to fix the femur neck fracture. He remained admitted for 4 days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition.
