Muhammad Azam's Story

Muhammad Azam, 65 years old, started experiencing swelling and pain in his abdominal region almost a year ago, which was diagnosed as a paraumbilical hernia. He was recommended to undergo surgery for it immediately, but he did not proceed with the recommendation.

“I got cold feet because I had heard too many horror stories about patients developing deadly infections after having surgery at local hospitals. I thought it was better to just bear the pain but over just a period of a few days, the pain became unbearable.” – Muhammad Azam

Due to the delay in the operation, Muhammad Azam’s symptoms have taken a turn for the worse and all medications taken so far have only given him temporary relief. The doctors have advised a mesh hernioplasty, a surgical procedure to repair the hernia, as the only solution so he has finally sought help for it by approaching us.

Muhammad Azam lives in a small apartment in Lahore with his wife and 2 of his children. He has four other children who are all married and living separately. Muhammad Azam works at a mechanic’s workshop, earning 10,000 PKR/month. His son earns 14,000 PKR/month working at a utility store. Out of their collective income, 5000 PKR are set aside for rent each month, and the rest covers the family’s basic expenses.

Unable to afford his surgery himself, Muhammad Azam hopes that you can help him find permanent relief from his pain.

Please donate generously to him so he can have the hernioplasty as soon as possible.
