Muhammad Bilal's Story

Muhammad Bilal, 3.5 years old, suffers from anorectal malformation- a congenital condition resulting in a malformed stool passage. In order to correct this, he requires a PSARP surgery as soon as possible after which, he will be able to perform his bowel function normally.

Bilal’s first surgery for his condition- a colostomy- was done at a local hospital a few weeks after he was born. This surgery made the temporary passage and he was advised to get a PSARP surgery.

With help from Transparent Hands, Bilal’s PSARP surgery was done successfully.

For Bilal to live a normal life, just like other children his age, the doctor has recommended he get the colostomy reversal surgery. His family has contacted Transparent Hands for help again. In order for us to proceed with the surgery, Bilal’s family needs help from you guys.

“Bilal is only one step away from living a normal life. With help from Transparent Hands I know that my son will have a bright future.”– Bilal’s father, Haider Ali

Bilal’s father, Haider Ali, is a door to door cloth seller, who earns around 15,000 PKR a month. He has 5 family members to support with this salary. Living in the expensive city of Lahore, this amount barely manages to get the family through the month. Owing to these financial constraints, Haider Ali has not been able to get his son’s treatment conducted on his own. This is why he has approached Transparent Hands for help the second time.

With the help of your donations, we can get his stoma colostomy reversal surgery conducted. Bilal deserves a chance at a normal life. Please support him!

Muhammad Bilal's Story

Muhammad Bilal’s (3.5 years old now) back passage was absent when he was born. He was diagnosed with anorectal malformation and his colostomy stoma was made soon after his birth. His surgery to construct the back passage (posterior sagittal anorectoplasty -PSARP) was performed with the help of Transparent Hands. Lastly, the surgeon recommended a final colostomy reversal surgery to restore the continuity of his intestine. For this purpose, he was admitted in Lahore Care hospital and the surgery was performed by Dr. Sajjid Nayyar on 13.11.2020. Bilal stayed in the hospital for five days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Now, his back passage is functional after the final surgery.

“My son has had uncountable hospital visits. I am so glad that the doctor has performed the final surgery. We are very grateful to each and every donor.”- Muhammad Bilal’s mother
