Muhammad Hussnain's Story
“My boy looks at me and cries loudly when I don’t let him go out and play. I’ve seen children running away from him due to the odour coming out of his stool bag. Because of these restrictions, he remains upset all the time and doesn’t even sleep peacefully. I cannot watch him going through so much pain every day. Please help us.” –Muhammad Hussnain’s father
Muhammad Hussnain is almost 5 ½ years old. He is a patient of Hirschsprung disease since birth. Hirschsprung disease (HSCR) is a birth defect in which the nerve cells are absent in the muscles of bowels, leading to loss of bowel movement.
Muhammad Hussnain was 1.8 years old when he went through a colostomy procedure and biopic surgery in 2018. Because he had not gone through an immediate colostomy procedure at birth, he faced severe complications. Afterward, his parents tried to get him registered for a Duhamel Pull-through procedure but the hospitals never cooperated due to a long list of patients already waiting for surgeries.
Muhammad Hussnain lives with his parents and 2 siblings in a joint family system in a small house. His father is a laborer in a small sweets shop and earns around 15,000 rupees per month which are not enough to fund his treatment.
Muhammad Hussnain is facing painful symptoms including fever, discomfort and inability to control bowel movements. He has no social life and he spends his time in isolation due to his disease. He cannot enjoy a normal childhood like other children and is unable to attend school because of his condition. When nothing else worked, luckily, Hussnain’s parents learned about Transparent Hands and asked for help.
