Muhammad Rafique's Story

Since the last two months, 53-year-old Muhammad Rafique has been struggling with a left inguinal hernia. He felt pain and swelling in his groin due to which he was taken to the hospital where he was diagnosed with painful hernia. The doctors have advised a mesh hernioplasty for his left inguinal hernia as soon as possible.

He underwent a cardiac procedure previously as well due to his heart condition. Stents were placed and Muhammad Rafique has to regularily take his heart medication. The doctors are even concerned about his health due to his heart condition.

In the last two months, he has been experiencing sharp constant pain in his lower back that has affected his mobility. In order to find relief, he needs to undergo a mesh hernioplasty- a surgical procedure to repair the hernia.

Muhammad Rafique works as a security guard and earns PKR 20,000 a month. He works day and night to make ends meet and supports his family of five including his wife and kids. He cannot afford to pay for his own surgery no matter what.
