Muhammad Siraj's Story

In an unfortunate accident a few years ago, Muhammad Siraj, age 30, lost all the fingers on his right hand. While operating a grass chopper to make animal feed, his hand got stuck in the machine and amputated his fingers. He was immediately taken to the nearest government hospital where his bleeding was controlled and his hand was dressed. A few days later, the wound got infected with pus collection. His doctor had no choice but to surgically amputate his right hand.

Now, after evaluation, Siraj’s doctor has confirmed that a prosthetic hand can be placed at the site of the stump. Siraj has approached Transparent Hands for help with this procedure.

“The accident turned my whole life upside down. I am right-handed so losing my right hand has left me barely functional. When I was told that there might be a chance to start using my right hand again, I couldn’t contain my joy and I immediately contacted Transparent Hands for help.” – Muhammad Siraj

Siraj is a factory worker by occupation and earns 17,000 PKR each month. Though skilled, he does not qualify for a higher paying job due to limitations imposed by his handicap. He has 2 small children and this income often fails to cover the household expenses as a major portion of it is spent on rent alone.

A little bit of help from you today can vastly improve the quality of Muhammad Siraj’s life.

Please consider contributing to his procedure.
