Muhammad Wasif's Story
7-year-old Muhammad Wasif is suffering from ventricular septal defect (VSD) and right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (RVOTO).
After countless prayers of his parents, Muhammad Wasif was born. They were over the moon over the birth of their son. But Wasif was diagnosed with a heart problem soon after birth. His condition worsened as he turned one year old. After checkup from the doctor, an echocardiogram (echo) test was performed and he was diagnosed with ventricular septal defect (VSD). The doctor recommended an open-heart surgery to close the defect. This surgery is essential for his long-term well-being because it will treat the heart defect that he was born with.
Wasif’s family has visited multiple government hospitals but did not receive the required medical care. They cannot take their son to any private institution because the cost of this surgery is too high.
Wasim’s father is a tailor and earns PKR 18,000 per month. He cannot even afford the medication with this income. The present condition of his son is a cause of great worry for him. Wasim is unable to breathe properly and becomes unconscious at times.
“I see my son gasping for air, struggling to breathe. I would not wish any father in the world to be in a condition like me”- Wasif’s father.
As a last resort, on a family friend’s suggestion, they have come to our organization for financial support. Their son’s condition is deteriorating, and this case needs urgent help.
Your small donation might be a life changing present for Muhammad Wasif. We urge you to donate for his surgery!

Muhammad Wasif's Story
Muhammad Wasif, 7 years old, suffered from dyspnea on mild exertion. His parents took him to a doctor to find out the reason for his symptoms. On thorough medical consultation, it was revealed that he was suffering from ventricular septal defect (VSD) and right ventricular outflow tract obstruction (RVOTO). The cardiologist advised an open heart surgery for VSD closure and RVOT resection. For this purpose, Wasif was admitted in Ittefaq Hospital and the surgery was performed by Dr. Mohamamd Asim Khan on 05-01-2021. He stayed in the hospital for five days and was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Wasif is recovering slowly from his major surgery. The surgery was conducted with the support of Pakistan Children Heart foundation and other donors.
