Mumtaz Bibi's Story
Mumtaz Bibi, aged 35 years, has been suffering from pain in her right hypochondriac area along with vomiting and abdominal stretch for the last two years. She has been diagnosed with cholelithiasis (gallstones) and doctors have advised her surgery to remove the gallbladder for permanent relief. Mumtaz has been refraining from seeking treatment due to financial restrictions but a lack of treatment has caused her symptoms to worsen over the past few months.
“Just a week’s groceries can cost us around 2000 PKR. That is half of my husband’s total pay so you can imagine how restricted our finances are. How am I to get my surgery done in such circumstances?” – Mumtaz Bibi
Mumtaz Bibi has 1 son and 4 daughters, all of whom are in school. The only earning hand in the family is her husband, who cultivates a small piece of land for his village’s landlord and gets about 4500 PKR every month. This family survives each month on this meager amount alone.
Mumtaz is living below the poverty line and even simple medical aid is an unaffordable luxury for her right now. The only source of hope for her is your donation.
