Nadia Zafar's Story

“Nadia broke down when she was asked about her husband. ‘He doesn’t even care to know if we still exist’, told Nadia. Her husband has been taking drugs for many years and never cared about her and their 3 children. She tried to provide the best education to her children but now she feels helpless as she fights for her life. Her disease is progressing and only a surgical procedure could bring her back to life.”

39 years old Nadia was enjoying a blissful life with her husband and children until her husband started taking drugs. After years of tolerating physical and verbal abuse, she had to leave him for the sake of her children’s better future.

Nadia is now living in her father’s home with her brother’s family. Her brother works as a daily wager laborer earning only 10,000 to 12,000 PKR a month. His income is not sufficient to take care of the needs of his sister’s family. Nadia wants to work and earn for her children but due to her painful condition, she is restricted to bed most of the time. She is a patient of uterine fibroids. She experiences heavy menstrual bleeding which lasts longer than usual along with nausea and vomiting. Due to not getting timely treatment, her condition has worsened.

Now, she has become too weak to perform her day-to-day activities. She has visited several doctors but they all of them recommended her to undergo Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (a surgical procedure to remove the uterus through an incision in the lower abdomen) for which she needs our help.

Without your contribution, a life will be lost, many dreams will shatter, many smiles will turn into sadness

Please extend your support to save Nadia. You’re the only hope this family is left with!
