Naheeda Bibi's Story
Naheeda Bibi, age 40, is suffering from large uterine fibroids, which are common noncancerous growths that can form in the uterus. These can often get really painful and cause constant discomfort and bleeding, as they have in the case of Naheeda Bibi. In order to get better, she requires a surgical procedure known as a myomectomy, in which the fibroids will be removed from the uterus.
Despite being in pain, Naheeda Bibi cannot have her operation solely due to a shortage of money. She and her husband recently went through a huge financial upheaval when they lost their house in a flood. To recover the house, they took a loan of 150,000 PKR from a landlord in their village but unfortunately, they were not able to salvage their house.
“We lost the house and almost all our possessions got damaged. We tried to repair the damage with the loan we took but it was beyond repair. All the money we spent on renovations got wasted as well and my husband and I are still stuck paying off the loan.” – Naheeda Bibi
Right now, the couple is living in a space that has been lent to them by the same landlord. The couple does not have any children. Naheeda Bibi works as a housemaid and earns 5000 PKR/month. Her husband earns 7000 PKR/month as a laborer. A majority of their earnings are used to pay off their loan and the rest to take care of their own basic needs.

Naheeda Bibi's Story
Naheeda Bibi, 40 years old, was suffering from uterine fibroids for the last five years. She was advised myomectomy - a surgical procedure to remove uterine fibroids; common noncancerous growths in the uterus. Her surgery was done on 08-09-2020 by Dr. Imran Sarwar at Musharraf Medical Complex. She remained admitted in the hospital for two days after her surgery. She was discharged in a satisfactory condition. Naheeda Bibi is recovering well and has resumed her normal life.
