Nasir Ahmad 's Story

Nasir Ahmad, aged 68 years, has been experiencing chest pain on and off for the past year. He took pain medication for it but it did not subside. One day, around 4 months ago, he underwent acute angina and was rushed to the hospital. His ECG report showed that his heart condition is very serious, so he was immediately admitted to the hospital. The doctors told him that he had just experienced a heart attack and needed to undergo angiography. Nasir’s angiography report revealed that he urgently needs PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention) as well as stent placement. 

Nasir does not work due to old age and his heart condition. He has 2 sons and 1 married daughter, who lives separately. His sons, both laborers, live with their father and earn less than 30,000 PKR per month collectively. Out of this, 14,000 PKR are spent on rent alone and the rest covers the family’s living expenses.

None of the local hospitals are taking Nasir’s case because there is a shortage of facilities due to the coronavirus outbreak. Owing to his limited income, Nasir cannot have the necessary procedure until he can raise enough money.
