Nasreen Bibi's Story

38-year-old Nasreen Bibi had been experiencing the problem of excessive menstrual bleeding for a few months. She felt weak and unwell because of it. Her household chores were affected as well. To find out what was wrong with her body, she visited the nearest local hospital. Since her issue seemed complicated, the physician immediately referred her to a gynaecologist. The gynaecologist conducted a complete check-up and after reviewing her reports, identified Nasreen’s condition as fibroid uterus. Uterine fibroids are basically growths of noncancerous nature which often appear during childbearing years. Nasreen was advised a total abdominal hysterectomy by her doctor for her fibroid uterus. In this procedure, the surgeon removes the uterus as well as the cervix.
