Naveed Sherazi's Story

In 2002 Naveed Sherazi, now 35, was involved in a terrible road accident on his way to a relative’s house and sustained severe damage to his right leg. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital and his leg was plastered for fixation. When the plaster was removed a month later, his leg had gotten infected and in the next year, the infection became worse. Finally, there was no choice left but to amputate it below the knee for the sake of Naveed’s health.

Shortly after the amputation, Naveed started using a prosthetic leg to walk. It has been almost 17 years and the prosthesis has worn down so Naveed has now requested Transparent Hands for its replacement.

Naveed earns just under 20,000 PKR every month working as an attendant at a private institute. He and his wife have 2 children and the entire household his dependent on his income alone. A costly medical procedure is beyond Naveed’s means so when he found out that Transparent Hands might be able to aid him, he immediately contacted for help.
