Nazeer Ahmad's Story

Sometimes, small wounds can create a life-lasting impact. Nazeer Ahmad’s little story is an embodiment of this fact. The 61-year-old male hails from Faisalabad, Punjab. How Nazeer’s life turned and twisted to a point where he is seeking a surgical procedure that would allow a prosthesis to be fitted in one of his legs? It is such a sad story, such an unfortunate series of events, all of which start from the fact that Nazeer Ahmad is a diabetic.

About one and a half years ago, Nazeer became a victim of a nail incident. At work, a nail pricked his left foot. And that is when everything starting to go downhill. The prick turned into a wound, a wound that wouldn’t heal because of Nazeer’s diabetes problem. The spread was at such a pace that it leads to a case for amputation of Nazeer’s left leg. The necessary evil condition meant Nazeer’s leg was amputated. Medicine, time, and courage helped the 61-year old numb the pain of amputation.

“Sometimes, when I think about it all, I cannot believe a tiny little nail, nailed me. I feel better now that my life isn’t at a risk because of the spread. But now, I feel the need for a prosthetic limb. I have recovered enough for a prosthesis to be fitted, but my recovery, alas, is physical only, not financial” – Nazeer Ahmad

You see, Nazeer hails from the tribe of a daily wager. When he and his son used to labour all day before the accident, all they could manage was 10,000 PKR/month. Ten kids, seven of whom are married, earnings going into house rent. Nazeer’s options are very limited. And the option which seems most promising is Transparent Hands. The organization has created a portal where everyone can donate for Nazeer Ahmad’s prosthetic limb.

A man wants to walk again! Help him walk by donating for Nazeer’s artificial limb!

Nazeer Ahmad's Story

Nazeer Ahmad, 61 years old, fractured his leg in a roadside accident, a year and a half ago. He was treated in a local hospital which later resulted in wound infection. Consequently, to save the rest of his leg, the doctors amputated his left leg below the knee. This caused immense inconvenience for him as he became dependent on other people for even the smallest tasks. To alleviate his suffering, the doctors recommended a below knee prosthetic leg for him which was arranged by HOPE Rehabilitation Center and fixed by Dr. Khalid Niazi on 15.12.2020. Nazeer is delighted to be able to walk again.
