Nazia Parvin's Story

32-year-old Nazia Parvin is currently pregnant with her fifth child. She got married 12 years ago and after four years of marriage, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Two years later, she delivered a baby boy who passed away after two hours of birth due to asphyxia. A year later, her daughter who was born also passed away due to the same complications. Her youngest child; another beautiful baby girl is now three years old and Nazia is expecting another baby in the coming weeks. All of her children have been delivered by Caesarean section due to several complications.

This being her fifth pregnancy, the doctors have advised Nazia to get another C-section, but she does not have the financial means to pay for the surgery. All four of her previous surgeries were funded either by her relatives or by her neighbours. She has reached out to Transparent Hands for help this time because her relatives are going through financial struggles of their own and cannot afford to pay for her surgery again.

Her husband is a waiter at a tea shop and earns PKR 500 rupees per day with an average income of PKR 10000 per month which hardly covers their daily household expenses. They live in a 7 marla house with a joint which was given to them by his parents.
