Numan Yousaf's Story
Numan Yousaf, 20 years old, started suffering from chronic stomach ache a few months ago but he did not seek medical advice for it. Recently, he applied for a job in the Pakistan Army for which his routine check-up was conducted. The check-up results showed that he is suffering from a swelling in the scrotum which has resulted from a left inguinal hernia. He has been asked by doctors to have his herniorrhaphy surgery done but he does not have the resources for it.
Numan has been given a long waiting time by the local hospital he has applied to for free surgery, but he cannot afford to wait that long due to the steadily increasing pain. His father, an accountant for a landlord, hardly earns 20,000 PKR/month and is unable to pay for his son’s surgery at a private hospital. Hence, this family has contacted Transparent Hands for help.
“We are four siblings and currently, all of us are dependent on my father. I want to step up and help him with the monthly expenses, so he doesn’t have to bear the whole financial burden himself. This is why I took the initiative to apply for a job. Numan Yousaf's Story
Numan Yousaf, 20 years old, was in a lot pain due to left inguinal hernia which kept increasing in size, but he ignored it. After some time, he applied for the Pakistan Army. When he went to get his medical done, he was diagnosed with inguinal hernia. He was advised a surgery to get this removed, relieving him from the pain. His hernioplasty was done on 24-08-20 at Lahore Care Hospital by Dr. Ahmed Fawad. He remained admitted in the hospital for a day and recovered well. He was discharged in a stable condition. Present day, Numan is living a normal life.
