Donate to Parveen Bibi for Her Cardiac Procedures
Parveen Bibi's Story
76-year-old Parveen Bibi discovered that she suffers from ischemic heart disease around 4 years ago when she slipped on wet ground and damaged her right leg and arm. The doctor advised her bed-rest for a few days but soon after, she started experiencing pain in her chest. This time, her doctor referred her to a cardiologist in Lahore. Her X-ray and ECG were carried out and she was asked to visit again after a few days. On her second visit, she was advised angiography along with PCI (percutaneous coronary intervention). Unfortunately, she wasn’t given an appointment for either of these procedures and has just been kept on a waitlist for the past several months. Meanwhile, her heart condition remains uninvestigated and possibly life-threatening.
Parveen Bibi’s husband passed away 14 years ago. She has 4 daughters and 3 sons out of whom, 1 son and 1 daughter are married. One of her sons is a daily wager, another is a ward boy in a hospital and one of her daughters works at home as a tutor. The combined income of all her children is still under 30,000 PKR a month and 9 family members have to survive on it. It is impossible for Parveen’s children to pay for her cardiac procedures at a private hospital. When somebody informed them about Transparent Hands, they requested that their mother’s case be registered for urgent help.
“Our mother has raised and protected us all on her own, ever since our father passed away 14 years ago. She has given up so much for us, even in her old age. We may not be able to help her ourselves but we will go to the ends of the Earth to find her the help she needs.” – Parveen’s children.
This old woman should not have to suffer because of poverty. Please donate to her so her heart condition can be investigated and treated thoroughly.
