Rashda Riasat's Story

Rashda Riasat, aged 24 years, had a history of two previous C-sections. During the gestation period of her first baby, she slipped. Unfortunately, her membranes were ruptured and her condition became unstable. Consequently, her child was born premature at the age of six months and expired because of complications. After that, she had another baby through C-section. Now, Rashda is expecting her third child. Because of her prior surgeries, her gynaecologist has advised C-section for her third child as well. They were able to pay for the last two C-sections since her husband was working in real state. However, he was laid off in the COVID-19 financial crisis.

“I have had very difficult pregnancies. Therefore, I am very scared this time around as well. I pray day and night to God for the safe delivery of my baby. We are not able to pay for the procedure since my husband lost his job around one and a half year ago. Our financial situation has been critical since that time.” – said Rashda
