Donate to Razia Maqbool for Her Cataract Surgery
Razia Maqbool's Story
Razia Maqbool, 48 years of age, has been diagnosed with a cataract in her right eye. Due to this condition, the lens of the eye gets clouded, reducing the vision. To restore her vision, cataract surgery is required in which the lens of her right eye will be replaced with an artificial intraocular lens (IOL). Due to financial restrictions, however, Razia is unable to proceed with the surgery.
Razia lives with her husband and 4 children in a small rented apartment in Multan, which costs 7000 PKR/month. Her husband and eldest son both work and bring home a collective income of 27,000 PKR/month. After rent is paid off, barely enough is left to meet the other basic expenses of Razia’s household and these limitations have kept Razia’s surgery on hold for several months, despite her failing vision. Finally, now, she has approached Transparent Hands with some hope of getting better.
“It is a scary thing, losing your vision like this. I can see out of only one eye so everything gets thrown off balance. I find it hard to even walk slowly.” – Razia Maqbool
