Rizwana Akhtar is a 41 years old mother of three children. She is a chronic patient of Cholelithiasis – the formation of stones in the gallbladder. She has had this disease for the past thirteen years. But now, she has started experiencing painful symptoms which are making her weak with each passing day.

Rizwana is married to a salesman who earns around 20,000 PKR per month. Her two young daughters and son are school going. Although Rizwana started suffering from Cholelithiasis thirteen years ago, she did not take any proper medical treatment. Her pain went away because of medicines but she never thought of treating her disease permanently due to lack of resources. A few months back, her condition worsened and she was forced to undergo some tests which revealed that she has gallbladder stones which could only be removed through surgery.
