Bibi Robana Begum, age 52 years, started complaining of acute onset abdominal pain 6 days ago. The intensity of the pain is keeping her from even walking. When her son rushed her to the hospital, she was diagnosed with acute cholecystitis, an inflammation of the gallbladder. Her doctor has told her to promptly undergo a cholecystectomy surgery in which her gallbladder will be removed.

Robana Begum approached Transparent Hands because this surgery is too costly for her. Her husband passed away 10 years ago due to diabetes. Ever since then, she has worked on her own to raise her 3 sons and 2 daughters until recently, when her sons became old enough to hold jobs. They now work as laborers and collectively earn 30,000 PKR/month. Because 2 of them are married and have their own families to support as well, this income cannot accommodate Robana Begum’s surgery expenses. Her urgent surgery has now been arranged to take place through Transparent Hands.

Bibi Robana Begum, 54 years old, was suffering from pain in right hypochondriac area with vomiting for the last one year. She was diagnosed with acute cholecystitis. Her open cholecystectomy surgery was done in Lahore Care Hospital, by Dr. Ahmad Fawad, on 03-06-20. She was discharged in a good condition after 3 days of stay in the hospital.
