Rozena Begum, 49 years old, has been diagnosed with a fibroid uterus. Because of this condition, she has been experiencing constant bleeding and lower abdominal pain. The doctors have advised a hysterectomy- surgical removal of the uterus- for permanent relief.
Rozena Begum lives with her husband and 2 sons in a joint system. They share a very small space with her brother-in-law’s family. Rozena’s husband works as a salesman and earns 10,000 PKR a month for his family. This is all they have to meet their monthly expenses. Hence, Rozena Begum does not have the means to have her surgery and has approached Transparent Hands for assistance.

Rozena Begum's Story
Rozena Begam, 50 years old, had heavy menstrual bleeding and lower abdominal pain for the last 3 years. She was diagnosed to have multiple fibroids in her uterus and was advised hysterectomy. Her surgery was done at Akram Medical Complex, on 27-02-20, by Dr. Asia Nasir. She stayed for 2 days after surgery. She had good post-operative recovery and was discharged in perfect health.
