Saba Mitho's Story
Saba, aged 5 years, a resident of District Sanghar, got her foot burnt by hot cow manure while playing outside in her village. This happened around two years ago. She was immediately taken to a local clinic where first aid was given to her. However, she could not be taken to a hospital due to a lack of resources. Nonetheless, with time, the pain increased in Saba’s foot. Consequently, she had to be taken to Karachi for examination. There, she was found to have post-burn contracture of the left foot and was advised the release of contracture along with split-thickness skin graft (SSG) surgery.
Saba’s father does not have the means to pay for her complicated surgery. This is because he works as a labourer in a bakery and earns only PKR 9000 per month. With five people dependent on him for all their needs, it becomes very difficult for him to make ends meet.
This is what he had to say regarding the whole situation:
“Since the accident, Saba has not been able to play with children her age. It was very unfortunate. We pray to God for her recovery so that she can, once again, bring light and laughter to our household.”
Saba’s physician referred their family to our organization. We reviewed and registered her case with us. Her painful condition can be cured with your financial assistance. Therefore, we request you to make a generous donation for Saba’s surgery.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
Saba Mitho's Story
Saba, aged 5 years, got her left foot burnt by cow manure. She was taken to the emergency room for first aid management and advised dressings at home. Unfortunately, due to lack of adequate care, her condition worsened. Then her parents took her to the doctor again and she was diagnosed with a post burn contracture of the left foot. The doctor advised contracture release surgery and SSG for her. For this purpose, she was admitted to Darul Sehat Hospital and the surgery was performed by Dr. Basalat Hussain on 31.08.2021. She stayed in the hospital for one day and was discharged in a stable condition. Saba has recovered from the surgery and started moving now.
