Saif Ullah 's Story

“We were very little when our father passed away. I was only 6. I was a child so I did not know how bad things were and my mother never made it obvious to me. She would pick up extra shifts to make sure my siblings and I don’t stay hungry. She single-handedly raised us. When I became old enough, I only had one thing in mind: I have to work hard so I can take over for my mother. And I will continue doing so, once my health gets better.” – Saif Ullah

Saif Ullah, aged 21 years, has been suffering from pain in his right lumbar area along with vomiting and burning during urination. He has been diagnosed with bilateral kidney stones, more symptomatic on the right side. In the past few months, his symptoms have become more pronounced, so he has been advised by the doctor to have percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL), a procedure to remove kidney stones through a small puncture wound in the skin.

Saif has not sought treatment anywhere so far because his local hospital has been overloaded with Covid-19 patients and he cannot afford to go to a private hospital. Ever since his father passed away from a heart attack 15 years ago, Saif’s mother has been working to raise him and his two younger siblings. When he turned 15, Saif started working to support his mother. He works at a carwash, earning 9000 PKR/month. Since this is not enough to support basic expenses, his mother still works part-time as a housemaid for 3000 PKR/month. Despite all the hard work, this family still has to live hand-to-mouth and cannot afford any added expenses.

Saif and his mother have requested your support for his operation.

A little help can go a long way in restoring his health.
