Samiullah Samiullah's Story

Sami Ullah, 2 years old, suffers from anorectal malformation- a congenital condition resulting in a malformed stool passage. Sami Ullah’s first surgery for his condition, a colostomy, was done at a local hospital a few weeks after he was born. In this surgery, a temporary passage for stool was made through his intestine.

Since then, his PSARP surgery had been planned to construct his back passage at the normal site but his parents had been unable to find an appointment for him at a local hospital. With help from Transparent Hands, Samiullah’s PSARP surgery was done successfully in July 2020.

For Samiullah to live a normal life, just like other children of his age, the doctor has recommended that he get a colostomy reversal surgery, now. In this procedure, the surgeon would join two ends of the colon which were divided at the time of his first surgery. His family has contacted Transparent Hands for help again. In order for us to proceed with the surgery, Samiullah’s family needs help from you guys.

Sami Ullah’s father is a laborer who earns around 15,000 PKR a month and has 7 family members to support with this salary. This amount barely manages to get the family through the month. Owing to these financial constraints, he has not been able to get his son treated on his own.

“We thought he might never be able to live a healthy life so we were overjoyed to find out that our son can actually be treated with just a simple operation. When we decided to move forward with the operation, we were shocked at the demands of hospitals. My son is only one step away from living a normal and healthy life. We need your help and support” – Sami Ullah’s father

We believe that a child shouldn’t be deprived of a normal life because of poverty. With the help of your donations, we can get Sami Ullah’s colostomy reversal surgery conducted.
