Samiyya Bibi's Story

Samiyya Bibi, 32 years-of-age, has been presenting with pain in her right lumbar region along with vomiting and abdominal stretch. Her cholecystectomy was also done two years ago to remove her gallbladder.

For the past two months, however, she again started developing pain in her right lumbar area and was diagnosed with renal stones on her right side. In the last month her symptoms have gotten worse, rendering her unable to do any work.  The doctors have advised her to get a right percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) to remove the renal stones.

Her family is unable to pay for her surgery due to their financial constraints and also due to the fact that Samiyya Bibi had to borrow money from relatives in order to pay for the three C-sections and a cholecystectomy she’s had done before.

She has visited multiple hospitals trying to get an appointment, but each attempt has been unsuccessful. Luckily, she found out about Transparent Hands and has contacted us for help. We have taken up her case and need your help now!

Samiyya Bibi is the mother of two sons and a daughter who attends school. The sources of income for this family is only Samiyya Bibi’s husband, who works at an embroidery shop and earns about 500 PKR a day with an average of 12,000 PKR per month. He supports the needs of their entire family on this income alone. Funding medical procedures for his wife is proving impossible for him.

“My husband works from day to night, without complaining, to support his family. But when you are poor, it is never enough. Just like right now, no matter how many hours he puts in, we would never be able to earn enough to get my surgery done at a good facility.” Samiyya Bibi

They may be struggling on their own but Samiyya Bibi’s children hope that you can help their mother with the surgery and end her pain.

To lend them a hand, please donate to her cause!
