Sehrish Bibi's Story

And there are a thousand chores I have to take care of. I have just been increasing my intake of painkillers but even that isn’t really helping at this point. I just feel miserable.”– Sehrish Bibi

30-year-old Sehrish Bibi has been suffering from pain in her right hypochondriac area along with abdominal distention, stretch, and vomiting for the past one and half years. She has so far just been taking medication for pain management but her symptoms have grown much worse in the last few months. Her diagnosis is cholelithiasis (gallstones) and for permanent relief, the doctors have advised surgery to remove the gallbladder.

Sehrish lives in a joint family system with her husband and 3 children along with her parents-in-law and brothers-in-law. Her husband is a car mechanic by profession and makes a monthly income of 25,000 PKR/month. He is fully financially responsible for his wife and children and also partially for his parents and siblings. Accommodating the expenses of 12 people in a small salary is difficult as it is. The added expenses of Sehrish’s operation are not possible for him to bear and he has asked for help from Transparent Hands.

Sehrish Bibi's Story

Sehrish Bibi, 30 years old, was suffering from chronic cholelithiasis – also known as gallbladder stones for the last five years. She was advised a lap. cholecystectomy; a surgical procedure in which the gallbladder is removed. Her surgery was done on 01-09-2020 by Dr. Faryal Azhar at Maryam Memorial Hospital. She remained admitted in the hospital for two days after her surgery and was discharged in good health. Sehrish Bibi has now resumed her normal way of living.
