Shagufta Bibi's Story

“My wife is very dear to me. She is the mother of our two beautiful children and soon she is going to give birth to our third child. The doctor recommended her C-Section but I’m not financially capable of bearing the cost. My poor financial condition sometimes makes me feel guilty for becoming a father again. Please help us.” – pleaded Shagifta’s husband

26 years old Shagufta got married around five years ago. She is a mother of two children, a 4 years old son and 2.5 years old daughter;  both of them were delivered through L S C Section as her fetal movements started to decrease during her pregnancy. She is now pregnant with her third child and the doctor recommended her to undergo C-Section again as this time, she is weaker than she was in previous pregnancies.

Shagufta remains stressed due to her poor financial condition which is affecting her mental health. Her husband is a laborer at a shop and earns around 500 PKR per day. They are living from hand-to-mouth in a small rented house in Mian Channu.

Shagufta visited many hospitals for free operation but all of them refused to take her case due to her inability to pay for medical expenses. Her stress was finally reduced when she learned about Transparent Hands. She has appealed the organization to fund her C-Section.
