Shahida Tabbasum's Story
“My husband works all day but still, all that he brings home is spent on just our bare necessities. My in-laws have been very caring and supportive towards us but this time around, we just cannot ask them for help as we already owe them so much and we haven’t been able to pay back any of it yet.” – Shahida
Shahida Tabbasum, 28 years old, is a housewife who is pregnant with her fifth child. Her one son and three daughters were all delivered through C-section surgeries at local hospitals. This time again, the doctor has advised her to undergo C-section as she cannot opt for normal delivery due to possible complications.
All her previous surgeries were funded partially by her local hospital and partially by financial help and loans from her brothers-in-law. For her current pregnancy, however, she has not been able to qualify for help from the hospital and she cannot borrow from her relatives as she and her husband are still paying off a loan of 100,000 PKR.
Shahida’s husband, Akram, works as a rickshaw driver and earns 400 PKR daily. This couple and their 4 children live in a small house in Khanewal that has been lent to them by Akram’s parents. This time around, they do not have any resources to pay for their child’s delivery and have asked Transparent Hands to register their case.
Let us give Shahida a chance to bring her baby into this world safely! Please donate to her for her C-section.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
