Shakeel Ahmad's Story

“I am grateful that this is not a cancerous growth but it still keeps irritating my eye and leads to a headache. My doctor told me that medicines might take care of it but even after continued use of them, it hasn’t subsided and surgery is my only option now.” – Shakeel Ahmad

32-year-old Shakeel Ahmad is suffering from a benign, non-cancerous growth on his eye, known as a pterygium. This is a wedge-shaped growth that has covered the white part of his eye over the cornea. He temporarily used corticosteroids to treat it but they did not work. He now requires a surgical excision to get rid of this growth.

Shakeel works at a local general store in Multan, earning a maximum of 10,000 PKR a month. He is married and has one son and two daughters. Shakeel and his family live as part of a joint family system in a small house temporarily granted by the government and have very limited resources that they live off. Accommodating his surgical costs is not possible for him and he hopes that Transparent Hands can help him arrange for his surgery.

Please come forward and donate for Shakeel so he can have a successful eye surgery.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
