Shamim Akhtar's Story

Shamim Akhtar, 25 years old, is pregnant with her first child. Over the progression of her pregnancy, she is suffering from breech presentation. In this condition, the position of the fetus is such that its feet are presenting instead of the head. Since normal delivery is not possible in this position, she has been advised a C-section to deliver her baby. Shamim has not been able to get an appointment at her local hospital due to a long waitlist and needs to arrange the money to get the procedure done privately.

Shamim’s husband, Muhammad Zeeshan, draws a meager salary of 8000 PKR a month as an office boy. He is responsible for his wife as well as his father and sister. Zeeshan and Shamim do not own their own house or any other property or valuables. and live with Zeeshan’s father.

Shamim Akhtar's Story

Shamim Akhtar, 25 years old, was pregnant for the 1st time. Since her baby was not positioned right, she was advised elective surgery for her own and her baby’s wellbeing. Her C-section was done on 05-05-20, in Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital, by Prof Dr. Arif. She was happy to give birth to a baby girl. She stayed for 3 days in the hospital and was discharged along with her healthy baby.
