Shaukat Ali's Story

Shaukat Ali, 70 years old, tested positive for hepatitis-C four months ago. He was in the process of seeking treatment but before he could get an appointment, the Covid-19 pandemic struck. Last month, he attended an awareness camp regarding hepatitis, where a doctor helped him formulate a proper treatment plan. To follow through with it, he requires assistance from us.

Too old to work himself, Shaukat is financially supported by his two sons. One is a laborer who earns 15,000 PKR/month. The other is in commando training and earns 16,000 PKR/month. Since his sons are married and also have their own families to look after, they cannot afford the cost of Shaukat’s treatment.

“I have supportive, hardworking children but the cost of my treatment is beyond their reach. I cannot blame them. Raising a family while living in Lahore is almost impossible, given how expensive everything is here. On top of that, their salaries are very limited so how will they have anything to spare. And I cannot do anything about this myself because I am a tired old man.” – Shaukat

If no one else can be there for Shaukat, we can step in. We are collecting donations for his treatment now. Help us reach the required amount by donating today!
