Shoukat Ali's Story
For some, life is all about double delights while for the unfortunate others, it is always double miseries. Shoukat Ali belongs to the latter tribe of sapiens. He suffers from bilateral renal calculi. For the last four or five years, the 40-year-old Lahore resident has been fighting for his life without treatment security. Speaking more specifically about the treatment of disorders Shouakt Ali is suffering from, there are differences for cardiac and renal issues.
Speaking from the renal side of things, Shoukat Ali was operated for his right kidney and a DJ stent was placed through TH. On follow up advice now he needs a Pyelolithotomy for the left kidney and DJ stenting removal for the right kidney. Pyelolithotomy refers to the surgical incision of the renal pelvis of a kidney for the removal of a kidney stone. The DJ stent refers to hollow tubes placed inside the ureter during surgery for ensuring the drainage of urine from the kidney into the bladder. The term DJ refers to double J since the tubes are J shaped essentially.
But these technicalities mean nothing to Shoukat Ali. His biggest woe is not the shape of stents, but the money they are going to cost him. By profession, he is a security guard and has a monthly salary of 15,000 PKR. Shoukat has to look after a family of six. For him, figuring out the ways to fund his surgical treatment is a conundrum that he is having a hard time-solving.
“Let us face it. The procedures are too expensive for me to afford them all by me. I am left with very few options, one of which is seeking help from the old friend at Transparent Hands. My first Pyelolithotomy surgery was conducted with this NGOs aid, and I have high hopes for my second experience with the NGO as well”
In November of 2019, Transparent Hands helped Shoukat Ali with his stone removal surgery. Today, challenges in Shoukat’s life have become tougher. We are going to ask for your help once more. You know all the details. All that you have to do is DONATE FOR SHOUAKT ALI’S SURGERY NOW!
