Sobia Kanwal's Story
“I have already lost one baby during delivery. We can’t afford expensive private hospitals so we had no choice but to visit our local facility. I don’t know what exactly happened but after a completely healthy pregnancy, I lost my baby in the operation theater. I sometimes think if I weren’t poor, I could have gone to a better hospital and maybe she would have been alive today.” – Sobia Kanwal
Sobia Kanwal, 36 years old, got married 10 years ago and subsequently had three daughters, the last of whom unfortunately passed away during delivery. All of her previous deliveries were by C-sections. Now, she is pregnant with her fourth child and her delivery is again scheduled via an LS C-section.
Sobia’s husband held a private job that paid 17,000 PKR/month but ever since the coronavirus outbreak happened, he was let go from his job. Right now, this family of four does not have a reliable source of income and is depending on neighbors to help them out. Sobia found out about Transparent Hands through a news channel transmission and came to the head office to discuss her situation and register her case.
She fears to lose a baby again and hopes that with your financial help, she can get quality medical services.
Please help us arrange for Sobia’s C-section.
Please Note: In certain situations, we proceed with the patient's surgery/medical procedure despite incomplete funding displayed on the website. Following the surgery/medical procedure, we persist in collecting funds and maintain the campaign on the website until funding is secured in full. Hospitals have granted us a grace period for bill payment.
