Wisal Fazal Rehman's Story

Wisal Fazal, 32 years of age, has been suffering from ischemic heart disease which is a condition of recurring chest pain that occurs when a part of the heart does not receive enough blood. He experienced a sudden shortness of breath and was directly taken to the emergency with help from the District Headquarter Hospital in Mardan. The pain in the left side of his body became continuous and kept getting worse every second, so the doctors shifted him to Sardar Memorial Hospital in Swabi which had a cardiologist on-call who rushed to the hospital and started Wisal’s treatment straight away.

After conducting an examination, they ran a few tests such as the ECG and ECHO. Once the results were in, the doctor recommended to have his coronary angiography, so his heart condition could be fully investigated and treated.

Wisal knew that he didn’t have the financial means to be able to pay for the surgery and had lost all hope. He worked as a labourer and earned PKR 12,000 a month which was barely enough to feed his siblings and parents. They are a family of 5 who live in an 8 marla house. Most of Wisal’s earnings went towards paying rent for their house. His family would go without eating for a couple days during the end of the month.

Luckily, someone told him about Transparent Hands and the fact that they would help him get his surgery for free. Without wasting any time, they visited the Transparent Hands office in Mardan. The team over there referred them to the nearest Transparent Hands office which was located in Swabi due to the fact that they didn’t have a heart specialist.

Wisal Fazal Rehman's Story

Wisal, 32 years old, suffered from recurrent chest pain. He was advised coronary angiography by his cardiologist. For this purpose, he was admitted in Muhammad Sardar Khan Memorial hospital and the procedure was performed by Dr. Umar Ibrahim Paracha on 16.11.2020. Wisal’s angiography report revealed that his coronary anatomy was normal. He was recommended medical management for his symptoms and was discharged the same day in a stable condition. He is in good health now.
